Steve Jobs Air Travel spend

Who hasn’t heard of Apple chief Steve Jobs? The man is behind some of the most amazing products and recently launched the new Apple iPhone 3G. Being the chief of such an important company you know he is bound to live a busy life flying from one country to another promoting his products. Ever wondered what it costs for this high flyer when he is out there traveling the world? Well, here are some interesting stats on Mr. Jobs traveling expenses. Every quarter, Apple reports to the SEC how much money it reimburses Jobs for business use of his Gulfstream jet. Last quarter, that was $189,000 — more than the June or March quarters, but less than last year’s December quarter, when Apple reimbursed Jobs more than half a million dollars. That is some heavy price that Apple is churning out for Jobs travel. But according to Kathryn Huberty a Morgan and Stanley analyst, all this flying should make the share holders happy as “more flying = more clients = more money”

So I guess this is one employee who doesn’t have to bother about cutting down his travel expenses while the rest of us are busy saving our pennies.

Video Chat Add to Gmail

One more time, The Giant Google give us a new feature to its services, and this time with GMAIL. Google is rolling out video and voice capabilities for the chat function that is embedded in the Gmail interface. It’s a bare-bones voice and video-conferencing service, but it’s simple to install and use and is a very good addition to Gmail.

It’s no Skype, though. Gmail Video and Voice, as it’s called, can’t connect to the plain phone network, as Skype’s paid service can. And there are plenty of other optional features missing, like a voice call recorder.Gmail gets video. (And either the person who showed me the app can’t be seen in public, or Google can’t afford lights.)

Somebody found a demo of voice and video quality on the service excellent, although he was connected from CNET’s corporate network to someone at the Google campus. I do expect Gmail Video quality to be a bit more consistent than Skype, since unlike the point-to-point architecture of Skype, Gmail Video traffic all runs through Google servers. I expect that Google has the bandwidth and server capacity needed.

But the service was a resource hog on my 2-year-old computer; it used up all my available CPU resources and made other apps slow to respond. I’ve had better luck with Skype. Newer computers would probably not have this problem.

Unlike many current video chat products, Gmail Video and Voice uses a proprietary plug-in, not Flash. The small (2MB) download supports Firefox, IE, and Chrome on the PC, and Firefox on the Mac. Support for other browsers and platforms (Linux and mobile) may come later.

Gmail Video and Voice will be made available to all Gmail users starting Tuesday at noon PST. Global rollout should be complete by the end of the day. To see if you have it, open a chat with someone (you don’t actually have to message them). If your account is video-enabled, at the lower left of the chat window, there will be an interface element labeled “Video & more.” When you click on that it will walk you through installing the plug-in. If you want to make a video call to someone who hasn’t yet installed the plug-in, you’ll be able to invite them to do so. (In my early test of the service, this feature wasn’t yet enabled).

The existing downloadable Google Talk application, which has supported voice chat for a while, only later may get the video capability.

Upshot: The addition of voice and video makes Gmail a more compelling product. It’s very nice to have all the major communications channels (e-mail, chat, voice, video, and soon, SMS) in one place and under one log-on. Google could, though, layer in some more connectivity into its own apps (like YouTube, Google Docs presentations, and Android) to make it even richer. And the lack of an interface to the standard phone system is limiting.

But Google got the first release of its videophone pretty much right. It works, it’s easy, and if you’re a Gmail user, the service is right where you want it.

Now they are controlling and do know more about YOU :)

Hello Moto!

SIX months of blogging just disappeared from this blog, yes it is a bad news and starting my blog post today with it. Well it wasn’t my mistake, it wasn’t that my blog was hacked by simply it was because of a lame a hosting company that decided to steal all the databases I had there and disable the account for no reason, after being a loyal client for them for 5 years, yes DreamHost is a very bad company, who act like those gangsters on the streets, this is enough for me to describe them and move to other things in this post.

Well the blog is back again, after that I tried to restore the maximum posts from old backup files, and I will be back again blogging with different topics from personal to advertising to entertainment, etc…
In the past few days lot of things were going on, Google today has 75% of the US search market, Google Q2 financial reports were perfect doing like 35% better than the previous year same quarter, even though Adsense system and click adds dropped down, and the US economy is so bad.

Microsoft still fighting and doing their bests to get the YAHOO deal, but it is too late for them, maybe they should start some new business after all what was happening with them since the VISTA launch, as I said it previously VISTA is The END of the software giant, it is not their time anymore, above all that Bill is busy with his organization now, but till when?

As for Facebook or Yahoo not much news, not following their updates as no interest for me in losers. But I can tell you something that LinkedIN is a perfect place and community for professionals.

BobnBab Ltd. yes it is one of the fast growing agencies in the region, lot of things going around, big and unique accounts won by the company, soon I will have the chance to write a dedicated post about the company and its latest activities.

BeirutNightLife is preparing for the re-launch that’s what I can promise you with this exclusive headline, with a big surprise!

Kevin R is still travelling the world and blogging, and so do I :)

The Giant “Google” - EPIC

The web was created in 1989, than Amazon was found in 1994 to set the Internet standards for sales, 1998 2 university developers created Google, that is the Giant today.

A lot of main things happened since the creation of the web, if we will put them in a time line it will be a long one, but we can go in brief with what happened since that time.

2002 Blogger was found, as well Friendster the biggest social networking site at that time. Google bought Blogger, and they launched Google News.

2003 was year of the blog.

2006 MSN bought Friendster.

2007 MSN answered Google, while launching NEWS BOTSTER, they bought

What are the future expectations or plans?

2008 Google will buy Amazon, and they will have the GOOGLEZON

Many other things to happen till 2014 where the Giant Google will launch EPIC (Evolved Personalize Information Construct).

Facebook just SUX!

Why I hate facebook and why I did deactivate my account?

Well there are many reasons and I will go over them in this blog post. I used to hate all these social websites (myspace, hi5, etc…) and I never had interest in any, but in the beginning of the current year with less work in hand, I got an invitation from a friend to join the fakebook network. At the beginning I went over it to explore all its features, to tell the truth I liked, and with time with adding friends and friends adding me I liked the way I got back to old friends that I missed all their contact information. But later on I used to spend lot of time on it and share more info about me and friends, and photos until I found that is 100% silly and it is time to stop it. But I never did it; I just spent less time on it. Till the time fakebook launched their applications and users profile pages started to be a mess, I didn’t know what to do at the beginning just went over all the applications to see its functionality and use, and again later on I found them all a waste of time, for those under age internet users or some loosers who don’t know how and what to use the internet for. So for Mr. Mark if you are still having the 18years rules to give membership to your fakebook just reverse it because the truth of your API is for those under 18 years old.

Today my fakebook is empty it has no information just my name, my old photo albums, and that’s it, that’s enough I think. I kept the account like this because I want to know what is going on in it as it is part of my business (for those who don’t know what I do please refer for this old post, BoBnBaB in the light).

After the long introduction about my fakebook usage, let us laugh a bit on what those people at fakebook are dreaming. They say they are worth than $15 billion, or they are the yesterday of the Giant Google or the long time ago of Microsoft, they think they will crash myspace, and they are the future of the internet… let me tell them that their climax was reached, and that’s it, when you aim to go over a Giant like Google at least have a good content on your platform, not a platform full of kids stuff, when you want to have a great advertising program have a great support at least, when you want to be #1 don’t dream too much and let your ego crash over you.

My point of view was that, and if fakebook should be sold is not more than $1 billion just because of the war between Google, Microsoft & Yahoo in order to rule the online advertising, but other than that fakebook is worth like $100million and not more. So Mr. Mark Zuckenberg go sell it today before you find out that you are just a dreamer, and start thinking John Lenon famous song “Imagine”

Just missed blogging, and wanted to write about something to state facts. And if you will search the internet you will find lot of points of views saying what is written above.

World Tallest Building Planned by Japan

tallest building in the world

Inspired by Mount Fuji, Taisei Construction Corporation has completed designs for construction of the world’s tallest building. The X-Seed 4000 (no idea where that came from) would stand at approximately 13,123 feet (4 km), nearly 700 feet (213 m) taller than the real Mount Fuji. The next tallest buildings don’t even break 2,000 feet, how puny! While likely to never be built, the X-Seed would have up to 800 floors, and be capable of housing between 500,000 and 1,000,000 people.

Unlike conventional skyscrapers, the X-Seed 4000 would be required to actively protect its occupants from considerable air pressure gradations and weather fluctuations along its massive elevation. Its design calls for the use of solar power to maintain internal environmental conditions. Some estimate that the cost to construct the X-Seed 4000 structure may be somewhere between $300-900 billion US dollars.

Now I’m no astronomer or anything, but if I learned anything in grade school, it’s that 13,123 feet is pretty much the distance to the sun. Which means that the top floor would be perfect for a natural sauna. You heard it here first, if they end up doing that I want credit.

No To Web Apartheid

As I always spoke about the Giant Google, and you know they are almost ruling everything online, even their competitors. It is time where Alex Goad from his Desk and personal blog NetFrontierMarketing shout it louder with a NO to Web Apartheid.

Is Google is a steamrolling web despot on amphetamines?

Trust issues, privacy concerns, foul treatment of partners and Big Brother is shinning through the seams.

Hostile Takeover

With over three times the search market share of closest competitor Yahoo, Google is careening towards an ever expanding dark empire.

Paid search puts them even further ahead.

In comparison, Microsoft is starting to look like the gentler, softer monopoly of the past.

I Know what You Searched Last Summer

 And the summer before that.

And:

- who your friends are
- what you discuss with them by email or chat (gmail, gtalk)
- what you look for in the dark of the night when nobody’s looking [sic]
- what sites you own
- what products you promote
- Generally, more about you than you can probably consciously recall
- What content you watch (youtube)
- What music you may be stealing

Without getting political, does the recent climate not warrant a question such as “what if all this falls into the wrong hands?”

And that’s only if you consider that Google’s hands aren’t them…

You Mean Nothing to Me

 Google Slap anyone?

Yes, there are rules. But those rules could stand to be far clearer. Warnings could be issued.

Instead, Google is remarkably trigger happy when it comes to the little guy. They think nothing of disabling your account with only vague cryptic explanations given.

Rules are for Losers

If you’re big enough or popular enough, you can cloak at will (NY Times), spam like there’s no tomorrow (About.com), dominate search results across the board (Wikipedia) and buy links from Google itself.

To the untrained eye, it may not be clear what’s happening.

That’s why it’s time to take a stand and say no.

Feedburner for $100 million!

The game is not over yet, Google continues on scoring in their competitors goal, taking over the world by buying up anything that has a remote chance of getting big. The latest purchase added to the growing list of Google acquisitions is FeedBurner. These are the guys that handle a lot of sites RSS feed. They also run the FeedBurner Ad Network (FAN) that can generate cash for some of blog owners.

Feedburner is in the closing stages of being acquired by Google for around $100 million. The deal is all cash and mostly upfront, although the founders will be locked in for a couple of years.

feedburnerFeedBurner was founded in 2003 and funded with $10 million of capital in two rounds. Google will be paying $100 million cash for the company. $10 million into $100 million in four years? That’s a pretty good ROI!

Who is next? Is it going to be me or one of my projects? Sometimes, Google let you dream while you are awake.

Is Facebook Like Google?

As we know Mr. Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook in 2004, it started as a private social networking site and now it is already open to the public. The company was founded after that Harvard University dropped out and Mr. Zuckerberg established the company.

Today, Facebook Inc. has bucked the Silicon Valley acquisition trend, remaining independent of larger technology companies. Now the social-networking start-up is seeking ways to reach the big leagues on its own. Yahoo was interested last year in buying Facebook for close to $1 billion, but people familiar with the matter say the talks cooled months ago partly because Mr. Zuckerberg and Facebook’s investors thought the company was worth more, and partly because Mr. Zuckerberg wanted to keep management control.

Facebook management is trying to be like other available web platforms such as You Tube, Google, Myspace and Web Boom … especially wit their new platform which will give access to third party people to develop new modules that can be integrated to their, and be used.

“How the company make money?”

facebook logoThe company makes profit from some little different sources, such as the advertisements that are made for Microsoft Corp. a deal for like $30 billion USD per year, till 2011. Also we know that they launched their $1 gifts system which gives access to its members to send gifts for other friends. Earlier this month they launched the marketplace service, which is a classifieds system for users to advertise their things, this is for free till now, but it could have been paid and be another income source for the company. Previously some companies have had pages within Facebook, but they didn’t interact with the Web site’s user networks. This move is significant because it could turn Facebook into a central hub for Web users, akin to an Internet portal like Yahoo Inc. Rather than using Facebook only to keep in touch with friends and going elsewhere for other content, users could now gain access to that content inside Facebook. That could keep people on Facebook for longer periods of time, which would also appeal to advertisers. For instance, an online retailer could build a service in Facebook to let people recommend music or books to their friends, based on the relationships they’ve already established on the site. Or a media company could let groups of users share news articles with each other on a page inside Facebook.

The 23-year-old Mr. Zuckerberg, who founded Facebook in 2004, and Facebook’s venture-capital investors, which include Accel Partners and Greylock Partners, now believe it is unlikely they will sell the company, says one person familiar with the matter. Instead, they hope to keep Facebook private for as long as possible, eventually going public in about two years, this person says.

Facebook, which has raised more than $38 million in funding, is profitable and expects to generate close to $150 million in revenue this year, says one person familiar with the matter. Facebook says its user base has more than doubled to 23 million in the past six months, and it is adding 100,000 new users a day.

Mr. Zuckerberg in the past has acknowledged he has greater ambitions for Facebook. He has bristled at Facebook’s “social networking” tag, instead calling the site a “social utility” that helps people share information, with their personal connections with each other as a backdrop. If others build services to take advantage of those connections, Facebook can become more useful for its users, he said in the March interview.

But Facebook faces challenges in trying to stay independent. Mr. Zuckerberg has little management experience, for instance, and is now managing some lieutenants who are Silicon Valley veterans twice his age. His main focus is on building interesting technology, say people familiar with the matter. A Facebook spokeswoman declined to comment on those characterizations.

There’s also stiff competition. News Corp.’s MySpace is still the leader in social networking, with 57 million U.S. visitors in April, compared with Facebook’s 14.4 million, even though Facebook has grown three times as fast as MySpace in the past year, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. And a handful of other companies are also riffing off the idea of using social-networking technology to build a broader platform, such as Ning Inc., co-founded by Netscape Communications Corp. founder Marc Andreessen. Ning lets groups build their own social networks.

Some Silicon Valley cognoscenti have compared Facebook to Google. Google faced similar challenges in the late 1990s, when its young, scrappy founders dealt with skepticism over their lack of experience, lateness to the search arena, and focus on technology over revenue. So Mr. Zuckerberg’s moves are being closely watched as a barometer of whether a new generation of Web companies can remain independent yet grow very large.

Mr. Zuckerberg himself has compared Facebook to Google. Asked in March whether Facebook has an analog to Google’s motto of “don’t be evil,” Mr. Zuckerberg said, “I don’t know that we have a motto yet. Maybe it’s, ‘Make the world more open.’ “

Googlywood Star

Well, I went offline again. Sorry for not being able to get stable and have new posts on my blog every day as I promised you. But I believe that you will pardon me one day when you know why all that, I can give you hints for now, personal, country situation, moving to another country, clients deadlines, and new projects to come soon online not seen before.

“As now I am back, let me tell you that I changed look for this summer, looks like Al Pacino maybe.”

jean ghalo looks like alpaciono

Well lets go over some news happened over the net lately:

Starting with Google and their acquisition, they got Double click for a 3.6 billion USD deal, as well as Mr. Eric Schmidt the Googlywood Star announced that Google buy every week or an average of 3 days a new established company with their employees, and than at the beginning of this week we can hear that Google is about to buy Feed Burner for 100 million USD which is another big number, and so a lot to come as we believe Google made out a trend lately in acquisitions.

“A Trend?!?!? Yes a Trend when we hear that Yahoo & Microsoft are doing the same today.”

Yahoo offering a 1 billion USD to buy Facebook, but Mr. Mark Zuckerberg replied with this: “Sorry we are worth more than this” well for 23 years old CEO that’s something astonishing no? It seems he got more plans to go for with this project, or he is trying to get Google for a better price. But I believe this is not good at all for Yahoo as they lost their web presence and they are going down more than before like that.

What about the losers Microsoft? Oh they are offering a 6 billion USD to buy one of the biggest advertising companies, one of the biggest in their history, well Mr. Gate or you doing some copy paste from Googlywood Star or what? They made that trend and you will never know how to play their game as no one before could play your BLUE SCREEN windows game. We cannot forget the 50 billion USD offer to buy Yahoo! That would make a big smile on some people like Larry Page, Sergey Bin & Eric Schmidt at least, as they will have two competitors falling down at the same time. Vista sold out 40 million copies and got a record over XP that’s what Mr. Gate told us, sorry I cannot believe it after hearing that DELL and other notebooks manufacturer are giving back XP original copies in place of Vista, which means VISTA was just a lie by Microsoft and it will burn the company alive.

I am not a Google fan; just I am stating some truth about losers who are trying to get a ticket in tomorrow’s train. If you don’t believe me just go over my previous posts and you will know what I am talking about.
